What is Digital Printing?

Digital Printers, as the name implies, print digitally; a totally different production process that uses dry toner and fuser oil, which are heated at high temperatures to create the image. This is in contrast to offset printing, which involves the use of ink, plates, and rollers in a printing press to complete a printed sheet. Ink is absorbed into the fibers of the paper using this method.

Digital Printers produce a variety of printed products from color pages to B&W and serve customers from a variety of industries. In fact, it is hard to point to an industry that they don't serve. The most often-mentioned markets for the Digital Printers are business services, financial services, retailers, non-profits, pharmaceutical companies and the education/government sector. But those are just a few of the many markets that they serve.

What are the benefits of digital printing?
On-demand or digital printing offers an affordable means to printing short run (under 2,500) copies, which is not available from conventional printing (off-set) because of substantial setup costs.  Most conventional print work is quoted as a single large quantity to get the lowest possible per-sheet price.

Digital print allows you to send the file directly to the printer, which is a cost savings on the front end and allows for a quicker turn time overall. Digital printing is also capable of delivering a personalized product, which proves at times 20% more effective than traditional direct marketing materials.
